So I Googled, You-Tubed, Wiki'd, and IMDB'd in preparation, I still felt woefully unprepared.
I was not about to ask the same cliche questions, "Tell me about being a woman breaking into the male dominated field of Stand Up", "Talk to me about your sitcom", "Tell me about growing up in the South in a house full of women", "What advice would you give young girls today"... YIKES!
I'd sooner sport Double D's in public than ask those redundant questions.
Then it dawned on me. I was trying to be something I am not. I am not an interviewer. I am an listener, a conversationalist, an observer, (dare I say, a writer).
I decided we would simply meet over lunch and let the conversation flow where it may.
And flow it did. The topics ran the gamut. From catfish and tartar sauce to her love of opera, and animals. We both became excited when our mutual love of choreographing imaginary tap dance routines came up and Ms Butler's eyes misted over when she spoke of her love for her nieces and nephews.

Her lightening quick wit had me continually laughing and before I could truly soak in the cleverness of what was just said there was another line that brought about more laughter. It was lighthearted and it was comfortable, and most of all, there was nothing questionable about it.
